Who is Iron Shield for?
More than security, it's ministry.
Iron Shield Security Academy helps pastors, safety leaders, and volunteers prepare to protect the people entrusted to their care.
Our training combines a ministry-first mindset with practical skills, scenarios, and tools churches can adapt to their own teams and procedures.
You do not need a law-enforcement background to begin—just a heart to serve and a willingness to prepare.
Why Iron Shield?
Because hoping nothing happens is not a plan—and preparing for the unexpected should not make a church feel fearful or unwelcoming.
Iron Shield helps pastors, safety leaders, and volunteers build practical habits for noticing concerns, caring for people, communicating clearly, and responding within their roles.
Through eight modules, real-world scenarios, and ready-to-use resources, churches can turn good intentions into a more prepared, coordinated team.
Serve with Purpose
Protection begins with character. Learn to welcome people, recognize needs, and carry responsibility with humility and compassion.
Respond with Wisdom
Build the awareness and communication skills to recognize change, de-escalate tension, and take appropriate action.
Prepare as a Team
Turn training into coordinated practice with scenarios, checklists, clear responsibilities, and plans your church can adapt.
Robert "Bob" Hallam
Bob brings a rare combination to church security training: more than 30 years in ministry and leadership alongside extensive protective training. A lead pastor and security consultant, his credentials include Krav Maga Instructor, Certified Bodyguard, Executive Protector, and instructor training in Israeli Combat Shooting and Israeli Combat Knife.
Bob founded Iron Shield Security Academy to help churches across the country strengthen their security ministries. He knows protecting a church takes more than placing someone at a door. It takes people who understand the ministry, recognize concerns early, communicate clearly, protect children, and respond responsibly when circumstances change.
His mission is to prepare capable protectors who never lose sight of the people they serve.
“We are not looking for trouble or living in fear. We are preparing to protect our people and planning for the moments we hope never come.”
